 DECEMBER 10 – Chili Cook Off and Christmas Cards for RCH

Get out your favorite family recipe! We will need sign-ups for 5 post of chili and 5 different kinds of cornbread. Here’s your chance to shine Bring your favorite cookie or dessert. A festive night for all. We’ll spend time writing cards to give to the Chaplain at RCH (Riverside Community Hospital) to take to folks who are in the hospital during the holidays.

Plan to attend and bring a friend or neighbor!

 DECEMBER 3 – Soup and Salad and Games Galore

We’ll need sign-ups for 3 soups, salads, and breads. Hot apple cider to sip while we play fun party games to get to know each other better as we enter into the Advent Season. Bring your favorite dessert.

Presbyterian Women's Annual Holiday Luncheon will be on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to Noon in Fellowship Hall.  Enchiladas and all the fixins' (gluten free) plus dessert. is $10.00 per person and payable at the door. Food, fun, and games to celebrate the season. Just bring your appetite! Please RSVP for this event, the reservation deadline is Monday, November 24th. Call the church office at 951-686-0761 during business hours to reserve your space. We had a great time last year and hope you can join us again.

Reservations are a MUST for the catered menu.

IT’S TIME TO TALK TURKEY FOR THANKSGIVING 2025!

Time to think about Turkeys: Our Hot Meals Thanksgiving is on November 30, the Sunday after Thanksgiving. You can participate by  buying and cooking a turkey to donate to Hot Meals OR Calvary has eleven turkeys that will be available on November 19 needing to be cooked. We will have a sign-up sheet for frozen turkeys to be picked up please allow time for them to thaw before cooking them.

We are asking that cooked birds be brought to Copeland Hall kitchen on Saturday, November 29, between 11 A.M. – 4 P.M. We’d appreciate turkey being cut into serving slices if possible, and pan juices for gravy are a nice addition. If you are bringing cooked turkey, pies or sides, please contact Sandi in the church office or email Robert Spitzer rgspitzer146@gmail.com and let them know.

We are inviting all the Christmas Elves to meet in the
Sanctuary, Saturday, November 29, 2025, 9:30 a.m. to help decorate our Sanctuary, Narthex, and Fellowship Hall with lights and greens to celebrate Christmas.

With plenty of helpers, we’ll get through quicker, probably before noon.

Due to the Government Shutdown, Riverside National Cemetery had to cancel and will reschedule next year. Riverside is unlocking the doors to some of its most cherished historic sites! The 8th annual Doors Open event will take place on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 1:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M., offering free access to local historic gems including the Center for Social Justice & Civil Liberties, Peter J. Weber House, Harada House, UCR Arts, The Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art and Culture, Civil Rights Institute of Inland Southern California, and much more. Many buildings, some typically closed to the public, will open their doors for a unique look at each one’s history. Enjoy exclusive docent-led tours and experience our City’s rich culture and historic architecture firsthand!  Calvary will  host a Stained-Glass Window Tour at 2 p.m. given by our own Marlene Flowers. PASTORS APPRECIATION FALL LUNCHEON

The Deacons are pleased to invite you to a Fall Luncheon and extend an invitation to members and friends of Calvary. The luncheon will be an expression of our congregations’ gratitude to our co-pastors, Erin Thomas, and Alfred Graise’s dedication to Calvary Presbyterian Church. We are truly fortunate, and much blessed to have such a great pastoral team guiding us through our physical and spiritual journeys. The luncheon will be held on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Fellowship Hall immediately following worship.

The Blessing of the Animals: Saturday, October 4, 2025, 10:00 a.m. in the front courtyard. The patron saint of animals, St. Francis of Assisi’s birthday was October 4. We will begin with a brief worship service and then the pastors will bless the animals and the owners as well. There will be a commemorative gift for your pet courtesy of the Bryant Family. Animals MUST be in the control of their owner at all times, on a leash, in a crate or cage. Please also be prepared to clean up after your pet. Invite a friend and their pets to be blessed! It’s a fun time for both people and their pets!

Presbyterian Women of Calvary will meet on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. PW will kick off our first meeting of the year by doing a little house cleaning. Our church offers greeting cards of all kinds free of charge to Calvary members. However, since there are so many cards to sort through, we thought it would be so much easier to choose cards if they were sorted and displayed by category. All the greeting cards will now be kept in one location, helping you find your card much quicker. We have a lot of them from Christmas, birthday, sympathy, get well, etc. to blank note cards. So be sure to take advantage of this free offer anytime you’re at Calvary. If you have extra greeting cards, please drop them off at the church office and we will sort them.

Yummy snacks are always provided. All are welcome to attend!
