A Memorial Celebration of Life Service for Joan Stolard will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2025, in the Sanctuary. A reception will follow in Fellowship Hall. Please keep the Stolard family in your thoughts and prayers.

JAMES SHEPARD CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICE AND RECEPTION

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Andrew Shepard, 79, who departed this life on January 8, 2025 surrounded by the love of his family.

A memorial service celebration of life with a reception to follow in Fellowship Hall will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Calvary Presbyterian Church in Riverside, California. All those who knew and loved Jim are welcome to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a Cancer Foundation in Jim’s honor.

Jim will be remembered for his kindness, his unwavering faith, and his dedication to his family, church, and community. He leaves a legacy of love, service, and integrity that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

9:45 a.m. Worship in the Sanctuary celebrating the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ with special music and song! Bring cut flowers from your garden to add to Calvary’s Flower Cross!

Our church offices will be closed in observance of Good Friday. We will re-open on Monday, April 21, 2025.

Maundy Thursday on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary marks Jesus’ final night with his disciples before he is arrested by the Roman authorities. We will offer communion and readings with singing to remember the agonizing last days of Jesus journeying to the cross. 

Palm Sunday is April 13, 2025 at 9:45 a.m. in the sanctuary. Come early to the front steps to get your palm fronds and join the processional. We remember Jesus’ very last entry into Jerusalem riding on a young donkey as the crowds cheered.

Immediately following our soup supper is the Lenten Vespers Service on Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. in the Transept Chapel in the Sanctuary. All are welcome!
